How can you save a Photoshop CS (*.psd) file to be used in Photoshop 6.0?

Is it possible to save a psd file in Photoshop CS to be backwards compatible to be used in Photoshop 6.0?

When you save it you get the option asking if you want to enable compatibity mode. If this does not appear check the settings for Photoshop as there is an option to enable compatiblity mode.

Edit %26gt; Preferences %26gt; File Handling

Maximize PSD and PSB file compatiblity: Set to what you want.

Most software offer backward compatibility and support. By default, when you're saving your PSD you'll be asked if you want to enable backward compatibility.

If you're not asked such question, you can check and adjust the compatibility setting in Photoshop CS:

1. Go to Preferences %26gt; File Handling..

2. On 'Maximize PSD and PSB File Compatibility' choose either 'Always' or 'Ask'

If you're selecting 'Ask', you'll be asked for file compatibility when you're saving your work:

1. Choose PSD as the file type and click Save

2. You'll be asked for compatibility. Tick/check on that box to maximize file compatibility and click OK to continue.

Hope this resolves your problem. :)
