Photoshop effects help! & Saving!?

Okay well i have photoshop7 and i have a new site on myspace so i wanted to know how to make effects such as:

I try searching for some tutorials on google but i cant find those effects!

%26 About saving, Well i do, do some things on photoshop but when i save it after i write font%26brushes, it doesn't come out clear, %26 nice, such as the examples above, I put the quality to 100 %26 set the saving to .jpg but nothing works :[

well im no genius.

but for the first one

it is lens flare, the 35 - 300 mm zoom (correct me if wrong)

for the second one, well i started to play in photoshop and this is one way to do it

make the picture grayscale

to do this, go to image -%26gt; mode -%26gt; Grayscale

then go to image -%26gt; mode -%26gt; RGB color

then use the filter ''difuse glow''

on the picture, but first select a circlular area (with a feather of 60, it depends on how high the resolution the image is)

and this should give you what you want.

now to save it

i would suggest PNG format

then select the option interlaced

you could do jpeg

but im not sure why it does not come out clear and nice

set it to max quality

try the progressive format

and use the maximum amount of scans.

although i am doing this in photoshop CS2 and this may not work in 7.

i might post again after i work the copy of 7 that i have saved on my portable hard drive.
